Delegate Resources by Committee

On December 6th and 7th, over 100 delegates will engage in focused debates across smaller rooms. The General Assembly and UN Human Rights Council will host larger discussions on global issues, while the International Court of Justice and Security Council will facilitate intimate sessions for in-depth analyses. Prepare for stimulating debates and skill enhancement.

General Assembly (GA)

This year’s issues:

  1. The question of global economic inequality.

  2. The question of mitigating and adapting to climate change.

Security Council (UNSC)

This year’s issue:

  1. The question of ensuring border security and managing migration.

International Court of Justice (ICJ)

The International Court of Justice consists of four judges and two teams of four advocates, who are tasked with presenting and arguing a case. After thorough deliberation and consideration of the arguments presented, the judges will reach a decision, rendering a judgment that addresses the legal issues at hand.

This year’s case: Application of the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (Canada and the Netherlands v. Syrian Arab Republic)

Human rights council (UNHCR)

This year’s issues:

  1. The question of freedom of speech in the digital age

  2. The question of protecting human rights in prison.
